The Anchor Drop
2 min read
Friday's here, which means it's time to start thinking about your next weekend happy hour. This week we're leaning a little more autumn — bourbon, maple, and one big ice sphere that keeps things cold without watering it down.
Meet The Anchor Drop
Warm, simple, and easy to make well. Bourbon and maple syrup do the heavy lifting, orange bitters round it out, and a big ice sphere melts slow so the drink stays good all the way to the last sip. Fresh orange peel is all the garnish it needs.
You'll need:
- 2 oz bourbon
- 0.5 oz maple syrup
- 2 tsp orange bitters
- 1 large ice sphere
- Orang peel, for garnish
How to build it:
- In a mixing glass with ice, combine the bourbon, maple syrup, and orange bitters. Stir for about 20 seconds until well chilled.
- Place the ice sphere in a rocks glass and strain the bourbon mixture over it.
- Garnish with the orang peel and serve.

A silicone ice sphere mold is an easy one-time buy if you don't already have one — it's the detail that makes this feel special without any real extra effort. No mold on hand? Regular ice works just fine.
Cheers, and happy Friday. 🥃
